As is always the case, in addition to all the usual preparations that occur prior to leaving on a vacation, we also took note of the need to drop a few pounds as well. The reason for this might surprise you or not: it was so we could "enjoy" all the food choices that come with a vacation!In other words, we wanted to lose some weight because we instinctively knew we would be gaining some weight while on vacation! How's that for the perfect example of both social interaction and comfort foods holding hands as it were during our vacation?Then, suddenly the thought struck me. In thinking this scenario through, I offered an alternative. How about treating our vacation like one of those weight loss clinics? We would be free from both the social interaction and comfort food exposures and could be free to purchase all the right foods called for in our favorite weight loss program and apply those principles while on vacation? The result could actually be reversed! We would be removed from any stigmas attached with the desire to lose weight, we would be able to fully support one another and stick to the weight loss game plan and come home after a vacation not only fully rested but several pounds lighter!This is an example of going away to some fat farm without paying them any money to accomplish the same thing! But, I digress...
